Shitcoin Radar (Beta) — User Guide

Written by

Shitcoin Radar is a free tool that scans newly listed tokens across multiple blockchains (Solana, Ethereum, BSC, Base, Arbitrum) and scores each one on safety, liquidity, money flow, momentum, and identity — so you can filter out obvious risks before doing your own research.

Not investment advice. This tool aggregates public on-chain data and scores it with fixed, transparent rules — it does not predict prices, does not execute trades, and does not hold your funds. Always do your own research (DYOR) before trading. Cryptocurrency, and new/low-cap tokens in particular, carry a very high risk of loss.

The Beta version is free and open — no account or login required. Just open the page and start scanning.

1. Getting started

  1. Open the Shitcoin Radar page in your browser.
  2. The tool scans automatically when the page loads. Click Scan any time to refresh manually.
  3. (Optional but recommended) Set up a free Helius API key — see Section 2 below — for more accurate Solana safety checks.

Important limitation: this Beta version keeps everything (scan history, your Watchlist, your Helius key) only in your browser tab’s memory for the current session. Reloading the page clears all of it — you’ll start fresh each time you visit. This also means letting the tool auto-scan for a few minutes (or clicking Scan a few times) is what unlocks its more confident signals — see Section 5.

2. Setting up a free Helius API key (optional but recommended)

Solana token safety checks rely on GoPlus Security’s database first. When a brand-new token isn’t in that database yet (common for tokens only a few minutes old), the tool falls back to checking the blockchain directly — and that fallback is far more reliable with your own free Helius key.

  1. Go to dashboard.helius.dev and sign up for a free account (email + password, no credit card).
  2. Once logged in, find your API Key on the dashboard (Helius creates one automatically for new accounts, under “API Keys”).
  3. Copy the key.
  4. In Shitcoin Radar, click the ⚙️ (gear icon) in the top-right corner.
  5. Paste your key into the field and click Save.
  6. Click Scan again — the status line at the top should now show “Helius: on” instead of “Helius: not configured”.

Your key is never sent anywhere except directly from your own browser to Helius — it is not shared with other visitors and is not stored on any server. It resets if you reload the page, so you’ll need to re-enter it each new session.

3. The interface

Chain filter chips

Tap All chains, or a specific chain (Solana, Ethereum, BSC, Base, Arbitrum) to narrow the list. The ★ Watchlist chip shows only tokens you’ve starred.

Auto-scan

Check “Auto-scan every 60s” to have the tool re-scan automatically. This matters more than it sounds — see Section 5 on why repeated scans unlock stronger signals.

Notifications

Check “Notify when a token is Worth watching/Strong signal” to get a browser notification the first time a token crosses one of those tiers. Your browser will ask for permission the first time — this only works on pages served over HTTPS (a padlock icon in the address bar); it will not work if you open the file directly from your computer.

4. Reading a token card

Each card shows, top to bottom:

ElementMeaning
Ticker + chain tagThe token’s symbol and which blockchain it’s on
Total score (0–100)Sum of the 5 categories below
Price + 5M/1H/6H/24H %Price and how much it’s changed over each window
Bonding curve bar (pump.fun tokens only)How close the token is to “graduating” to a real liquidity pool (~$69K market cap)
Liquidity / 24h Vol / Age / Buys-SellsKey market stats at a glance
5 score bars (A–E)See below
FlagsSpecific things the tool noticed — green = good, amber = caution, red = danger, grey = informational/unverified
Verdict boxThe tool’s overall read — see Section 5

The 5 scoring categories

  • Safety (40 pts) — Contract-level risk: can the token actually be sold (not a honeypot)? Is mint/freeze authority revoked? Is ownership renounced? Is the LP locked or burned? Is one wallet holding a dangerous share of supply?
  • Liquidity (20 pts) — How much real liquidity backs the token (or, for pump.fun tokens pre-migration, an estimate from bonding curve progress), and whether it’s growing or being pulled between scans.
  • Money Flow (25 pts) — Whether buy pressure is healthy and, over multiple scans, whether it’s sustained rather than a single spike.
  • Momentum (10 pts) — Whether the price is moving up at a controlled pace, or spiking in a way that suggests you’d be buying a local top.
  • Identity (5 pts) — Minor credit for having a social presence or a clear project narrative. Intentionally small — a website and Twitter account are cheap to fake.

Hard Veto — 🚫 REJECTED

Some findings are severe enough to reject a token outright, regardless of its total score: confirmed honeypot, inability to sell, extreme tax (>25%), a blacklist function, an unlocked LP controlled by one wallet, sudden liquidity withdrawal between scans, and a few others. If you see “REJECTED (Hard Veto)”, the reasons are listed — this overrides everything else.

5. Understanding a token’s verdict

VerdictWhat it means
🚫 REJECTED (Hard Veto)Violates a hard safety rule. Avoid, regardless of score.
⏳ Needs more dataOnly 1 scan so far — not enough history yet to confirm anything is sustained. This is normal for a token you just found; scan again in a few minutes.
🚩 High riskLow total score — multiple weak spots across safety/liquidity/flow.
🔍 NeutralNo strong signal in either direction yet.
🔎 Worth watchingA decent score, but not everything is confirmed yet.
⚡ Strong momentum signalHigh score, sufficient liquidity, and buy flow confirmed sustained across multiple scans — the tool’s highest-confidence label. Still use a stop-loss; this is still a very new, very volatile token.

Why does the verdict change between scans? By design. A single snapshot can’t tell you whether buying pressure is real or a momentary spike. The tool deliberately withholds its stronger labels until it has seen the same token across 2–3 scans (roughly 2–3 minutes apart with auto-scan on) and confirmed the trend is holding — this is meant to filter out fake pumps, not to be slow for its own sake.

6. Frequently asked questions

Why does a brand-new Solana token show “Contract safety not verified”?
GoPlus Security (the safety-data provider) needs time to index new contracts. Without a Helius key, there’s no fallback — see Section 2. With one, most tokens should show a real safety score within the first scan.

Why did my Watchlist / scan history disappear?
The Beta version doesn’t save anything to disk — it only lives in memory for as long as the browser tab stays open. Reloading the page or closing the tab clears it.

Is my Helius key visible to other people using this page?
No. It’s typed into your own browser and used only for requests your own browser makes. It is never transmitted to this website’s server or to other visitors.

Can I trust the score completely?
No tool can guarantee safety. Treat the score as a fast first-pass filter, not a final answer — always verify manually (check the contract on DexScreener, read the project’s own channels, etc.) before risking money.
